Gatekeeper Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Gatekeeper is a private email assistant that runs on Dr. JJ Gregor's own Mac for his personal use. It is not offered to the public.

What Gatekeeper accesses

With the account owner's permission, Gatekeeper uses Google's Gmail API with read-only access (gmail.readonly) to read email messages and their basic details (sender, recipients, subject, date, labels, and message text) so it can sort, prioritize, and summarize them for the account owner.

Gatekeeper does not send, delete, or change email in the Gmail account.

Where data is stored

  • Email data is stored only on the account owner's own computer, in a local database.
  • Sign-in credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain on that computer.
  • Gatekeeper has no servers. It doesn't collect analytics, use advertising, or sell or share data with anyone.

AI processing

To sort and summarize non-clinical email, Gatekeeper may send the minimum necessary message content (sender, subject, and message text) to an AI service provider through its business API, solely to produce results for the account owner. That content is not used for advertising, and Gatekeeper does not allow it to be used to train general AI models. Email from clinical or patient-facing accounts is never sent to a general AI service.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Gatekeeper's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access and data

The account owner can disconnect Gmail in Gatekeeper's Settings at any time, which deletes Gatekeeper's local copy. Google access can also be revoked at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
