As most of you know, I fly by the seat of my pants with most things... Usually not in a good way...
I have let way too many small fires burn to try to put out bigger fires or more "important" fires. Which, usually aren't that important, but I have let them go long enough that they have become pressing and painful. This could be things like you know you need to move or eat better, and you know how but the kids or the job or the commute or insert reason here______ has stopped you.
For whatever reason, this has been the story of my life.
I have known forever that daily mantra's and focus/intention work can do amazing things. but I haven't used them in a long time. I got overwhelmed in the day to day of trying to live life. Without these essential parts of being present and in the moment, it has been HARD!
I've been mailing in the meditations, praying sporadically (at best), and really just been off my "game" for a long time. I honestly can't remember the last time I had it all together moving forward with purpose! (Granted this may just be old age and dementia setting in)
So, due to a lot of personal pain and pressure, I decided to it was time to get focused and serious about all the aspects of my life. Starting with movement (yoga & meditation) and money (reading "You Are a Bada$$ at Making Money" and "You Were Born Rich") because as Zig Ziglar says "Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the 'gotta have it' scale."
So, after a solid hour and a half or so of work yesterday morning, getting my mantra's right doing some yoga, meditating, and praying. Getting breakfast ready for the kids then getting ready myself for work. I went out to the car and BOOM test from God! (In my opinion)
My car was DEAD, no battery. Nothing.
Scramble mode of putting out fires AGAIN... Damnit!!!! But I pulled it off, got my first couple patients rescheduled, got the battery to the car store to charge, and got an Uber to the office! Treated my patients and caught another Uber home stopping at the car store and picking up the battery on the way home. Installed it, and even got TJ to his baseball game on time! That bit of stress didn't cause me to drink a bottle of wine by myself, it didn't make me eat a pound of cake. I didn't let it wreck me my health or my plan for my day.
The question I have for you is do you let a few bumps in your morning or day wreck your health and your plan for your life? Does that jack-hole of a boss make you want to drain a 5th of vodka every night? Do you let the traffic jam on your way to whatever derail your life? If so, it is time to dig in and make some changes, and I believe your resolve will be tested!
If you decide to change your diet and do a Whole30, you may have family or friends that look at you like you're crazy and try to sabotage you at every turn. HOLD strong! You can do it, make a plan stick to the plan but be flexible with somethings without compromising your goal!
So, if you are ready for a change Erin and I have somethings in the works! We have started a site that will help you get your health and life back on track!
